What is Somatic Mind ?

Somatic Mind is a method that promotes inner balance and improved relationships with others through developing body awareness and movement quality.

Rooted in a quest for better communication, this practice supports adaptability, vitality, and longevity. It helps us find more effective solutions to everyday challenges by unlocking creative potential and expressive capacity.

It’s a continually evolving system, inspired by martial arts, dance, gymnastics, yoga, Pilates, embodiment practices, somatic work, and the Fighting Monkey practice.

OUR PRACTICE

Somatic Mind develops physical intelligence and mental agility. It enhances movement efficiency and posture quality. For everyone, it’s a way to cultivate vitality and longevity. For athletes and artists, it helps prevent injury and boost performance.

Sessions invite you to explore movement situations: solo or partner games, choreographed sequences, and improvisation exercises. These are opportunities to cultivate adaptability and creativity.

Grounded in a vision of the body and movement that includes and transcends physical condition, athletic performance, and appearance, this approach encourages a more embodied life.

Somatic Mind offers a holistic experience that harmonizes sensation, thought, and emotion to enhance our presence and enrich our relationships.

Through conscious breathing, movement, stillness, and partner work, Somatic Mind nurtures the connection between body and mind, empowering us to make more conscious choices.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Somatic Mind is a practice to move and think differently—beyond styles and techniques. It is a space to develop an elastic body and a plastic mind, an exploration of movement and stillness aimed at cultivating our quality of presence and the quality of our relationships.

Where Movement Meets Meaning.

Our vision of the body and movement includes—but goes beyond—physical conditioning, athletic performance, or aesthetic outcomes.

Somatic Mind helps develop bodily intelligence and mental agility. The practice enhances the efficiency of movement and the quality of posture. For everyone, it is a means to cultivate longevity and nourish vitality. For athletes and artists, it helps prevent injuries and improve performance.

Somatic Mind is a cross-disciplinary practice drawing on dance, martial arts, and athletic training. It is an open system rather than a fixed repertoire, with constantly evolving practices.

It is an invitation to explore movement situations: solo or partnered games, sequences, and improvisation exercises. These are opportunities to cultivate adaptability and creativity.

Somatic Mind is an opportunity to refine self-awareness and communication with others.
