About the event
What is Somatic Movement?
The word somatic comes from the Greek soma (σῶμα), meaning “the lived body.”
Here, the body is seen as a subject rather than an object.
The practice goes beyond aesthetics or performance.
It is composed of several complementary sequences:
Mobility (as in Pilates or Tai Chi)
Coordination (as in dance or fitness)
Cooperation (as in martial arts or contact dance)
Stillness (as in meditation or Qi Gong)
Somatic Mind is inspired by over 25 years of experience in martial arts, dance, yoga, Pilates, embodiment, and the Fighting Monkey practice.
A full immersion to explore your movement in a kind and supportive space, connected with others.
A playful, dynamic somatic practice — free from performance or competition — to rediscover mobility, grounding, and vitality.
The classes revolve around four complementary dimensions:
🌀 Conscious Movement: Precision, slowness, and fluidity to reconnect with the body’s natural architecture.
🌀 Rhythm & Coordination: Movement with music to awaken ease, joy, and connection.
🌀 Cooperation: Partner work to develop trust, creativity, and relational intelligence.
🌀 Integrative Stillness: Meditative pauses to anchor sensations, regulate the nervous system, and regain inner clarity.
